Thousands of people will join RAGBRAI riders when they Book it to Iowa City for a big bash on Friday, July 27. All entertainment is free and open to the public.

Entertainment Lineup

The Jayhawks, from the Twin Cities, and Blitzen Trapper, from Portland, Oregon, will headline the main stage, and will be joined by distinguished Iowa City singer-songwriter, Elizabeth Moen, and Soul/Rock band James Tutson and the Rollback. The main stage will be located at Clinton Street and Iowa Avenue and entertainment will run from 4 to 10 p.m.

In addition to the main stage, a side stage at Washington and Linn streets will run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. featuring a variety of local live music, a break dancing competition, and a DJ competition and dance party. Yard games will line Dubuque Street, and free movies will play at the Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn St., and the Senior Center, 28 S. Linn St. Local nonprofit theatre, FilmScene, 118 E. College St., will also screen Field of Dream at sundown outside in the alleyway. Bring your own chair!

Block Party Format

There will be seven entrances to the Book it to Iowa City Bash in Downtown Iowa City. Beer, in addition to wine coolers, hard lemonade, and hard cider, can be consumed within the confines of the designated eight-block area from noon to midnight.

A wristband is required and will be available at any of the seven entrances beginning at noon. The wristband is free to those with official RAGBRAI wristbands and $10 to those without. Wristbands are not required for those who are underage, or are not drinking alcohol. All proceeds will benefit the United Way of Johnson and Washington Counties.

In addition to the beverages available from downtown businesses, a tent will be located near the main stage on Clinton Street from noon to midnight, and will serve domestic and craft beer, soda, and water.
